Other Permit Types:
Contractor & Vendor Passes
Campus Contractors & Vendors (Pink Cardstock or Green Cardstock)
Contractor permits - those who need to park on campus to work on campus projects not parking within the fence line of a project. Permits are assigned by the project or contract manager. This permit allows parking of personal or company vehicles in F/S spaces outside of the project fence line. Contractor Vehicle passes are granted in limited numbers; managers must submit request in advance to Parking Services for consideration to park in spaces adjacent to the construction or job site. If approved, contractors may purchase passes for use of these spaces. Parking within the designated staging area of the Kaplan Arena lot will continue to be provided for projects at no additional cost. Project managers should contact Parking Services to request passes for this area at the beginning of each project.
Vendor permits - those who provide frequent services short term, such as one hour service calls, or many short service calls over a few days. Vendors in company vehicles are directed to use loading docks for deliveries and are limited to one hour. Vendors under contract with the university may request monthly or annual permits in the expectation of regular service calls. Submit a request to Parking Services for longer duration passes, otherwise vendors come to Parking Services for a daily pass on each call to the university.
Motorcycle or Moped Permit
Motorcycle (White Decal)
The motorcycle permit entitles the registered vehicle to park on campus. Motorcycles, mopeds, and motor scooter meeting the state engine size requirements >49CC, seat high requirements >24" or capable of speeds in excess of 35 MPH, are allowed to park ONLY in pre-defined and approved motorcycle parking spaces. Motorcycles parked in any location other than the pre-defined and approved parking areas are subject to citation. The cost of the permit will be ½ of the base rate. For safety reasons, unless otherwise noted, these vehicles are not permitted to park on sidewalks, under building overhangs, inside courtyards, or in buildings, at any time.
Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (Silver Hangtag)
This permit allows parking at the Kaplan Arena lot and School of ED student lots 1-5 only. Individuals with this privilege may register up to two vehicles. This permit is not valid in metered or timed spaces at any time, unless displayed WITH a current valid ADA permit. Members with DMV issued ADA credentials and the Osher permit may park in any faculty/staff parking space when standard ADA spaces are not readily available. During W&M academic breaks, the Osher permit is valid in student spaces within the Parking Deck and faculty/staff spaces along James Blair Dr. The Osher permit is not valid in off-campus paid parking lots. Registration Forms for this permit are available at Parking Services and online in our Forms & Documents section.
General (Gold Hangtag)
General permits are intended for non-William & Mary affiliated persons who volunteer at the university or have a frequent need to visit and use university facilities, such as Williamsburg city residents or independent researchers. The General permit allows parking in faculty/staff spaces, except those reserved at all times. Read these instructions to learn how to register and buy this permit. Contact email@example.com if you encounter problems or if a volunteer's sponsor needs to send documentation.
